I have safely made the journey from Martin’s site to this one. My entries are going to be very simple while I learn HTML code. When I can find a few minutes I’m trying to head here.

I made the comment to a programmer that a lot of writers probably aren’t blogging because we tend use Word and let someone else add the squiggles. He disagreed, saying most writers use Radioland. I’m very skeptical. None of these technologies are for web page beginners, it is assumed the user knows web speak. I find that putting these characters in my text is distracting me from what I’m attempting to say, and I can’t edit content in my head because I’m trying to format. I type 90 words a minute and it is taking me 90 minutes to post those words. I have no choice, I have to learn, and I realize I’ve been spoiled.

For the past five years I’ve sent all my web based writing to the site that requested it in a Word document and it appeared on my computer screen the way it should look, thanks to people who knew what they were doing.

This post has taken well over an hour. That is painful. Two hyperlinks hand typed in. Flipping back and forth to preview and promptly forgetting where the code, spelling, and space mistakes are. Not remembering the code because I’m getting steamed. No spell check, unless I cut and paste from an HTML editor or Word. I’m told it gets easier. This is not blogging yet.

I think I’d better go study.
