The fact news from China continues to get out is still a

surprise to me since for years censorship was so strong. It

almost always saddens me. This massive country has so many

problems. The infrastructure we take for granted here is

fragile to non-existant there.
A massive outbreak of food

poisoning has killed at least 100 in eastern China, most of

them children. Rat poison is suspected.

Food poisoning deaths have sometimes occurred in

China from restaurants using cheaper industrial salts instead

of edible salt.

State media reported that food poisoning killed 146 people

and affected more than 15,000 others last year, with many

caused by rat poison, chemicals and bacteria.

I suspect the numbers are many many times higher.

Joyful

Christian is blogging again.

Dean Peters and his wife suffered a loss this week, when his

wife miscarriaged at the end of the first trimester. Keep them

in your prayers. Like any born singer he has turned to music

to help him express his grief. At HealYourChurchWebsite he has posted the midi

files for Dvoraks Biblical Songs (Op 99). The history of many

classical music pieces always help put the depth and richness

of the music in context. Depending on my grief I turn to

Massenet, later works of Beethoven, Rachmaninoff or some

thundering Wagner. It speaks to my soul where no words can’t

go.

In spite of a train derailment in his area that has released

sulfuric acid, In

stapundit is still blogging. A lot depends on wind factors

in evacuations. Going out to dinner sounds like a good

plan.

I just got lost in thought. It was unfamilar territory.

Those who live by the sword get shot by those who don’t.
