Information on the Russian Special Forces seige of the Moscow theatre is still sketchy. Some reports say 67 hostages are dead, others say 90 are dead.
About 400 hostages are in hospital recovering from sleeping gas. 50 rebels were killed and 3 captured.
What is clear is that blame will start to fly from all sides. 750 people were in the theatre. The Chechna people were forced from their region during Stalins reign and allowed to return in the late 1950’s. Since then there have been unsuccesful wars of independence in their homeland, with kidnappings and bombings taking centre stage the last few years.
Colby Cosh looks at whether Islamic faith would have taken over the world if it hadn’t started terrorizing.
I’ve been reading Churchill today.
Never give in–never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honour and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.

A 39 year old mother was dragged out of her home and killed today in the West Bank city of Nablus. Her sister was shot in the legs. Why? They were ‘accused’ of being collaborators with Isreal. Two Palestinian groups scrambled to claim responsibility.
How come this doesn’t get covered?
Instapundit asks that question regarding the slaughter in Algeria today of 21 people from the same family. He links up to the BBC.
We went through that last night over at blogs4God when the Russian Forces made their move. It is covered. Just not by cable and network news in the US.
Rachel Cunliffe from New Zealand jumped in to help me and linked up to the CTV live feed while I posted. When I finally did flip over to CNN, I found the language and information not only PC but very behind. Meryl Yourish says it well.
As angry as I get, I genuinely feel for US consumers. They will have to be the ones to deal with their TV news coverage.
CBC, ABC, BBC etc are also guilty of PC coverage, but at least we consumers have an opportunity to see and hear what is going on internationally.
