Over at Lockergnome a writer says four new worms have already been identified as level 2 by the security company F-Secure. (Viruses/worm/trojans) are threat rated 1 to 5. Over at Symantec, there are there are two that weren’t rated at a 2 last time I checked. Keep your firewalls up, virus programs updated and running daily eh?

Greenland
Greenland, home to about 56 thousand people is in an uproar after it’s government collapsed when a member performed ‘cleansing’ ceremonies.
The Arctic territory’s home rule government, in office for only 37 days, fell apart because of its senior civil servant’s penchant for what some politicians called “witch-doctoring and other mumbo jumbo” and others “plain exorcism”.
The affair centres on the activities of Jens Lyberth, who called upon the services of a healer to drive evil spirits from the government’s offices in Nuuk, Greenland’s capital.
Relationships between island natives and Danes have been strained and with this government’s collapse over this incident, elections will have to be called if a coalition can’t be formed.. The ‘cleansing’ drew the ire of the island’s bishops.
And while Greenland deals with ‘witchcraft’ The Gospel According to Mark looks at ‘vampires’ and politicans in Malawi.
Near and dear to every Canadian
We have to do something about this! Tim Horon’s new policies are making many of us very unhappy. We don’t want frozen dough. We don’t want uniform looking fritters and donuts with a longer shelf life! Gary Dunford hollers our protests in his article Horton Hears a Boo. A must read for every Canuck. If they dare change the blueberry fritters, that’s it! I’ll never darken their doors again. Boooo!
If you haven’t had the opportunity, take a minute and pop over to peacefulwaters.org. It is one of the best designed weblogs I’ve ever seen. And why not leave your congratulations to the bride?
Jordon Cooper explains a Creative Commons Licence in this post after hearing some church consultants sold some of his work to their clients. If you read the comments section, it looks like he’s taken the plunge.
I’m not quite sure what I think about this, working in a public domain and receiving a salary for output was sufficient for me. There are stupid and unethical people in all aspects of our society, and if you have a family to feed, perhaps giving yourself extra legal recourse is wise.
My personal choice is to hold all things loosely, and not to use legal methods against others who might misuse or take my work. Given that 4% of the US GNP is used up by people suing, I guess it’s a question of individual choice of protection.
I find myself wondering what that 4% could do to unselfishly help others, but that’s a daydream about an ideal word, not the real one.
What in Tarnation faces every teacher’s nightmare….my gag reflex is over sensitive too.
I am shamelessly stealing another whole post from John Campea. He found it at Been There…Still There.

How rude! I went to the Tim Hortons site and they don’t even have an email link to let us tell them not to fritter away a serious Canadian tradition. Do nut change the donuts!!!!

Hi Bene,
The problem is that everything I write is copy protected under Canadian and American copyright law. By using a Creative Commons liscence, I am giving up control but stopping people from plagerizing my stuff and making a profit off it. I don’t care if people take my stuff, I just don’t want them selling what I am giving away.
Jordon:
I see your point…to me what they did was just plain wrong. So does this stop them or slow them where copyright won’t?
Thanks Bene!
Oh, and double thanks for the lovely blessings you left in my journal.
Whoa! Taking from MY blog!!
Just to set the record straight, I never wrote that. And furthermore someone has informed the blogging community that Her Holiness Mother Teresa of Calcutta did! Do you realize how much time in purgatory I’ll be doing for this one?
“hail-mary-full-of-grace-the-lord-is-with-thee…
hail-mary-full-of-grace-the-lord-is-with-thee…
hailmaryfullofgracethelordiswiththee….!!”(sweating)
Hi Laura: Glad you found me. I took twice didn’t I? If you have time for a Hail Mary for me, I’d appreciate it. Blog on!
Creative Commons liscence won’t stop people from stealing but what it does it allow some people who did pay attention and respect my copyright to legitimately use my stuff within certain limits (non-commercial and with attribution). Theft happens but what this does it allow people to build on my stuff if they want.
Thanks for the mention in your blog. I have enjoyed yours.
Thanks again!
