An Irish cell phone company has developed software than enables users to update their weblogs.
NewBay Software, a Dublin-based start-up, is offering FoneBlog, a software system for carriers that extends the practice of Weblogging, or “blogging,” to cell phone users.
If you don’t have the technical skills, Foneblog will do it for you.
The software system, hosted by the carrier, stores and formats incoming messages that are added to the user’s Web site like a diary, or log, with the most recent entry added to the top of the page. The site can be accessed and tweaked using any PC or phone browser.

Bloggedy Blog
On January 15th I posted about Andrew Careaga’s difficulties obtaining past royalities from his first publisher for his book E-vangelism: Sharing the Gospel in Cyberspace. His plea for help from bloggers has reopened communication with the publishing company.
On a personal level I was dismayed by the number of people jumping into bloggedy-blogs comments section with legal and religious arguments to sue the publisher without knowing all the facts of the situation. I’m glad efforts by bloggers instead of lawyers have helped move things along between an author and his publisher. Andrew Careaga’s post today is far from naive and re-actionary and worth the read.

A Blog Apart
Group blogging is difficult. I’ve been wondering if A Blog Apart was able to settle their differences. When you bring people together with different backgrounds, personalities and opinions, those differences can spill into the open. Opinions of varying degrees are healthy is there is mutual respect shown for all parties.
Canada-US
A Canadian-US confederation just isn’t going to happen according to Mark Steyn.
CBC’s Neil MacDonald
Last week I mentioned a grass-roots protest in front of the CBC protesting their middle-east coverage. Here is the latest behaviour of correspondent Neil MacDonald, who spearheaded a drive to publicly embarrass Israeli PM Ariel Sharon by suggesting the Foreign Press Association boycott the annual pary thrown by the PM for journalists.
Who is He?
Mark Byron looks at the Jesus of the US today in this post. I read this by Jordon Cooper yesterday and it has been haunting me. America’s culture of Christianity does not translate well to other countries.
Australia burns
Just as Canberra residents thought they’d experienced the worst, thousands of people are on evacuation alert as fires again threaten the capital.
2001 Cenus
The 2001 cenus indicates Canada is 2nd to Australia in foreign-born residents.
18.4 per cent of Canada’s population (5.4 million) were born outside Canada;
9.4 per cent of immigrants who came to Canada in the 1990s can’t speak or understand French or English;
73 per cent of immigrants who came to Canada in the 1990s live in Toronto, Vancouver or Montreal, with only only six per cent choosing to live in areas outside of major urban centres;
Of 1.8 million immigrants who arrived between 1991-2001, 58 per cent were from Asia, 20 per cent from Europe, 11 per cent from the Caribbean, Central and South America, eight per cent from Africa and three per cent from the United States;
Chinese was the largest visible minority group, then South Asian (3.0 per cent), black (2.2 per cent), Filipino (1.0) and Arab-West Asian (1.0);
Canadians reported more than 200 different ethnic origins in the 2001 census.

The only word I can come up with for this
gooddogbaddog post is bittersweet. I’m still trying to breath after reading ‘in honour of innocence.’

As far as A Blog Apart goes, few people were offended in the first place. It’s difficult sometimes when discussing “hot” topics to keep emotions in check. But taking into consideration the nature of some of the posts, I felt all involved behaved rather well.
It was unfortunate that Sean C. felt the way he did, but his opinion wasn’t shared by many, to my knowledge.
But you were curious if we were able to settle our differences. All except Sean are in agreement. Just thought you might like to know.
Thanks for the update Jason, opinions do come with emotions often, don’t they? Blog on!
Aww… they missed out New Zealand :/

I learned last night on “Jeopardy!” that Canada and the Central African Republic share an official language: French. Tres interessant!
Au revoir!
Amazing what one can learn watching Jeopardy. I didn’t know the Central African Rebublic citizens spoke French. Salu!
Bene, the link for Weblogs for Dummies is bad. It should be:
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0764537490/ref%3Dnosim/blogroots-20/104-5530946-8656718
As an aside, I suppose this is an Amazon default, but right below the book information, their “other people who bought this book also bought” headline reads “Customers who wear clothes also shop for”.
You were quite right, it was bad. Thanks. Fixed. Blog on!
