Having run across Christian fundamentalists in my own experience that crush their own, I've also seen Christian fundamentalists that are more tame. I'm not sure I quite agree with it all, particularly in relation to Islam. In Christianity, "fundamentalism" refers to a particular way of reading the scriptures, but there are also other ways of reading. I don't think there is quite this diversity of approach in Islam, though clearly there is a diversity of Islamic opinion. I wonder if that makes any sense? I need an early night... It’s good stuff.
