The final vote by the IOC for the 2010 winter olympics was supposedly held 12 minutes ago and supposedly Vancouver is going to be the venue.
It’s big news on live TV here, but the net hasn’t quite caught up.
The final vote was very close. 56-53.
Update: Here it is.
Looking back…looking forward took a poem written last week and put it to flash.
It is creative and interesting for a couple of reasons. One. Being flash, I expect it to be quick, and it isn’t. It’s a poem that slows me down and makes me think.
Two. There is an instinctive visualization of some words and it’s rather fun to see a poet do that.
It could use sound, but you already mentioned that. Having said that, since you got so far with this Richard….have you got your own soundtrack running through your head, since you also write music?
An original, start to finish :^)

Ted Esler used to have a blog called EslerFried. It was the only mission-oriented blog out there at the time, and I grew to enjoy it and use it.
Some time ago he switched web platforms, and something got lost in the translation. He’s back. :^)

Awwwww *blush*, thanks, Bene!
I’ve got sound in my head… but I don’t have the skill to make it “real”. Oh, well. Maybe someday!
Gee… Canada’s got it all now… Beautiful weather, wonderful people, the Olympics, and of course, SARS. Oooops… one of those is a fabrication…
LoL Regan…I forgot to mention Toronto is now off the WHO list. Ok, moving up your list…
Dear Bene,
Vancouver in 2010? I’ll leave Seattle now, because the traffic will be *that* bad. Wait, the winter Olympics? I’ve made that drive from Vancouver to Whistler, and that road is simply not adequate. Oh, and I know that many bald eagles mate in the water ways along that drive. I hope they’ll be ok…
Hey Chris: You wouldn’t believe all the promises being made to make that road adequate. They aren’t going to have much choice are they? And being Canada and all it’ll take them seven years to improve it.
Nice to hear you’ve enjoyed our country, bad roads all. Blog on!
Toronto has given up for now on bidding on summer Olympics.
Now Mayor David Miller says if we get the 2015 World’s Fair it will solve all of our economic problems.
