An international community

Although US bloggers out number others in the god-blog community by virtue of the sheer number of computers, the international sector is thriving and vibrant.
The diversity is tremendous, healthy and educational.

3 Philippine god-blogs have been nominated in the Philippine Weblog Awards
Whoo hoo!

Son Seeker’s is currently at #2.

Starbucks Coffee For Free is currently #4.

Super Blessed is currently at #8.

These blogs have made an impact on line and deserve our vote. You rate them on a scale with 10 being the highest number. We don’t know who they have influenced to think about Jesus Christ and they are out there blogging and trying.

You know what to do. :^)

This could be the first time that god-blogs have been formally recognized for their quality and worth.

Here is the award site again, just to help you out.

US 2009
Mark Byron has a fantasy election of bloggers going, and got to name a lot of blogs. Having achieved the presidency, Dr. Byron puts together the rest of the crew of bloggers.

I respectfully decline the nomination as press secretary (the White House bureaucracy are annoyed by Canadian reporters), and throw my support behind James Liliks of course!
Maybe I’ll get the Pres of 2009 to ask our PM if I could be Canadian ambassador to the US.

Five great lessons in life

1. The greatest tragedy of life is not death, but what dies inside us while we live.
2. Life is adventures in forgiveness.
3. Civilization gets its basic energy not from dynamos but from its dreams.
4. No one knows enough to be a pessimist.
5. We should never underestimate our problems but neither should we underestimate our ability to deal with them. – Norman Cousins

Underblogs
LivingRoom has done a tremendous job of reaching out to underblogs and with your help made it to 100. Way to go everyone. There are some great blogs there, and at this rate, they won’t be underblogs anymore.

E-mail
E-mailing is the #1 on line activity, and according to a survey, a week without it is quite tramatic.

Electronic mail is playing such a key role in companies that most people start to get annoyed after just 30 minutes without e-mail access, the study found.

But spare a thought for the techies in computer support. About a fifth feared for their jobs if they did not get the e-mail system back up and running within a day.

More than 800 techies in Europe and the Middle East were quizzed about the role of e-mail for the survey.

Makes sense. Glad I’m not the only one.

Uh-oh. Where did connexions go?
It’s back. I’ll never understand internet hiccups.

Say it ain’t so Owen
gooddogbaddog is ending blogging this week.
Owen has challenged us, encouraged us and we’ll miss him.
I respect his decision.

He has left us with another thought provoking question.

“So here is the question to test whether you have been sucked into this world’s distortion of love: Would you feel more loved by God if he made much of you, or if he liberated you from the bondage of self-regard, at greater cost to himself, so that you enjoy making much of him?”

Thanks for being there and blogging with us Owen. Canucks rule! Thrive!

When I started my own blog and decided to serve and participate in the blogosphere a year ago, I am glad I couldn’t see ahead.

This weekend I will be doing Command Post again, so blogging may be sparse.
A lot happened this year, and I still grieve.

But there is joy, I have seen the best in others, met amazing people and there are few regrets.
What gives me a sense of peace is this part:

The impending collision of both events in my life has caused me to pause and think about my communication with God. Is my infrastructure in place? Am I hiding His word in my heart? Is His praise on my lips? Are my petitions in accordance with His will? Am I staying conscious of His Presence? Have I respected the fact that each of us has their own role in each community? Do I give mercy when I’m weary, angry and cut out of the loop? Am I caring well for myself too? Am I remaining faithful at my post?

I’ve changed I think, and I am sorry I failed so spectacularly at times.
This is even more true.

I can completely and fully count on my God and His infrastructure. He never changes. He doesn’t slumber or sleep. He leads. He guards my steps. He comes alongside. He lifts me up. He corrects. He knows my needs. He provides still waters. He cares. He communicates.

Oh Father, teach me to communicate well, help me communicate You, and thank you for the priviledge.

  1. As the 2009 Ambassador to Canada, I think you should stay and be my liaison with your great insights into the Canadian mind.

2009 – email to LA Millinger

Bonjour, Madame Ambassador, welcome to Canada!
    Your staff awaits your bidding.
    Blog on!

    Bene, O here

this is one Canadian who will continue to frequent the blogosphere but as a reader. It is odd (?) that the greatest amount of attention gooddogbaddog.ca has drawn in recent months has been in the announcement of its closure. Selah.

uncollectedentries (also closing) provides my reasoning for my enough is enough. As I wrote elsewhere, the kind words are the hardest part of leaving and require that one be resolute in ones decision. For me it is clearly time to depart.

I will continue to read my favs (of which you are one) and to scope out new authors in the etherworld.

    thrive!

Thank you, Bene, for the assistance. We pray that at least one Christian blog makes it to the semi’s. God bless!

  5. Debi says:

Your prayer has been, is, and will continue to be answered so long as you are faithful to do His will. Thanks for your obedience to his voice, and please don’t ever shut this thing down unless He tells you to. I enjoy your outlook, even if I don’t always agree with it (99% of the time I do, tho’). Actually, I enjoy it precisely because I have that 1% in there. :^) Happy blogiversary! Blog on!
