Richard has reported in from Wales.
Where to start?
He has just completed his stop in Clydach which means he has cycled 50 miles with another 14 miles to get to Sketty.
He is grabbing a quick bite before the final church.
For cycling enthusiasts the top speed on the ride today has been 34mph (that had to be the downhill laps!)
He has been ‘in saddle’ for a total time of 4:26.
Cycling fans can decide how good that is.
I was wrong (well the BBC is wrong) about the temperatures in South Wales.
The support car is registering temperatures in the low 30’s.
Whew.
Richard says its been great with little crowds to greet him at each of the churches. The first church had about 40 congregants, and the subsequent churches are averaging about 20.
So far, several hundred pounds have been raised for the Swansea Bay Disability Appeal.
Wow.
I asked Richard what he wanted to say and I quote:
“If I had a choice I’d be glad if this was the last church and I could go home. I’ll be late coming home.
I’ve discovered something cycling along. I’ve discovered that I can’t keep 11 sermons in my head at the same time. They jostle one another. I’m not going to quit.
I know that all cell phone signals out of the UK are on one satellite and he was unable to reach us for an update until now.
He was quite cheery for a guy who has done over 50 miles in unusual weather and confessed he is a bit addled.
Press on Richard. You are almost home.

Yay
Good to have another update - thank you! I was beginning to worry when hadn’t heard anything since Pitton! I’ll head up to Sketty now…
