I got a huge kick out of three tech people celebrating in my comments below, in the middle of my night.
It was a long week for everyone. Thanks guys!
And thanks to What In Tarnation?!?! and connexions for their hospitality.
This blog is now on a new server.
HourEleven, the hosts of this site are doing very well. Since their launch they have grown quickly, and average 30 thousand unique visitors a month. And I suspect this is just the beginning for this talented team. :^)
Speaking of loons (an affectionate term for Canucks today)….looking back…looking forward is, well, is…go look.
It’s a mood. It’s peaceful, clean. The white makes me think of snow. The leaf identifies the nationality of the blogger. I wanted to stay there and breathe.
Long Weekends
Every long weekend in Canada is a working weekend for police who are out on the roads in full force doing different kinds of spot checks.
This Thanksgiving it is seat belt stops.
And they meet some interesting people with interesting excuses.
Taboo topics
It is taboo topics month at The Wibsite. Be warned! The content is unsuitable for those with weak funnybones, lackluster wit, and lost senses of humour.
The Buzz
Forget the sniping you hear about how many or how few people are blogging — or even how many or how few people read blogs. This isn’t a numbers game. It’s an influence game.
BuzzMachine looks why blogs matter.
Weblogs are a medium of substance, of people who have things to say and of those things catching on (or not catching on) in a wider discussion. That is what makes blogs significant.
There are some interesting points here…..and some that churches and leaders could be paying attention too. Blogging is not a passive medium. It isn’t people sitting in pews on a Sunday absorbing a sermon. I think blogs do pick up on the underlying ‘rumble’ or ‘buzz.’
Listening
Are you one of those people that dominate the conversation?
FutureMargins takes a different slant on this.
Australia
A year ago on October 12th 88 Australians died in the bombing in Bali.
Some Australians will mark the anniversary in a ceremony in Indonesia under the threat of two more bombs in the hands of Islamic extremists.
202 people from 20 countries died in the Sari club attack. The country will mark a minute of silence for those who lost their lives.
DogsfightAtBanksTown has a fitting tribute up.
