This is fun. It’s a free intelligence test. After taking it and you want more information on your in depth profile, you pay for it. However, they give you a good teaser in the free results.

In the interests of fair discloser, here are my free test results.
The test is based Mensa Workout tests and the Shipley Institute of Living Scale — an intelligence test that focuses on both vocabulary and verbal abstract reasoning. Those are the skills that are associated with problem-solving ability and social comprehension/judgment.

IQ - 120
Intellectual Type is an Insightful Linguist.

This means you are highly intelligent and have the natural fluency of a writer and the visual and spatial strengths of an artist. Those skills contribute to your creative and expressive mind. And that’s just some of what we know about you from your test results.

So, that’s why why I avoid or get crunched or iqnored or flamed in legal, logical, linear debating…creative people think in more circular and social ways.
It also is an indicator why linear debaters get treated better at blogs with the kind of IQ listed above. I believe we aren’t stuck in one mode, and all of us can show understanding with dignity for each others differences. Irritability, dismissal and flaming from one type to another isn’t necessary.
It can also help explain why math and tech problems are so difficult for me.

Ouch
While dashing around doing the ‘getting ready for winter chores’ two nights ago, I collided with a metal chair. The metal chair won, and I broke my baby toe. I can weight bear, and will give the pain a few more days to subside before deciding whether to get an ex-ray to see if I cracked or broke a metatarsal. I want to get the demographics survey finished, but I need to knock off for the day and put my feet up.

Server move
Since January I’ve been unable to track people coming to my blog using http://benediction.webhop.org/. If you have linked me in favorites or blogrolls using that URL, when you have a minute, would you be kind enough to change the URL to the domain name…benedictionblogson.com/. ? I’d like to be able to come over to your blog or know who you are as a reader and say thanks for correcting it.

How we find blogs
Sisters’ Weblog has a poll up on how we find other blogs.
The most so far….links from other blogs.
The study I’m doing more than bears that out and these poll results will help confirm, deny and balance this information out.
Head over and vote, the more input the better.

Thanks for the test link. I am the same personality type as you are

    I’m a Visionary Philosopher:

Like Plato, your mind’s strengths allow you to think ahead of the game — to imagine or anticipate what should come next in just about any situation. Because you’re equally skilled in the numerical and verbal universes of the brain, you can draw from multiple sources of information to come up with great ideas. The timelessness of your vision and the balance between your various skills are what make you a visionary philosopher.

I’m okay with that. I even know which question I got wrong - what fun!

I came out as Visual Mathematician.

This means you are gifted at spotting patterns — both in pictures and in numbers. These talents combined with your overall high intelligence make you good at understanding the big picture, which is why people trust your instincts and turn to you for direction — especially in the workplace

People are always asking me for help at work!

I’m timing out of bloging - again - but wanted to tell you Bene that you did it well over at iphy’s. Well said, really, well said.

    Owen:

I saw your comments at I took the Red Pill also.
    Gentle, sad and wise words.
Come back to the blogosphere when you can. We need voices like yours.
The minister appears to have wandered into a new place, and doesn’t need to get flamed first time out. It must be difficult not to be in control.
As one blogger put it, the Sage on the Stage.
Doesn’t work in responding to a blog post, does it?
I think he needs time to reflect carefully on what was said in that comments section.
Iphy owned her words and thoughts.
Maybe in time he can head back and re-read what was said from a less defensive standpoint, because what she said had to have hurt him and his concepts of role.
Come back soon eh, Owen. Thrive.

  10. 10 Luke

I got 135. I’m Visual Mathematician too. Damn you Jason with 136. I’m sure you’ve dropped a point since you last did it! :)
I’m pretty sure I broke a couple of toes a while back also. They went all funny colours and really hurt. And now one of them is kind of crooked.

Same as you people, I took the test and got a VM paper crown, didn’t want to pay for the report, googled and came here.
Honestly, I don’t think some of the questions there are designed to have a single “right” answer. For example, I remember the one “Wisdom is knowing what to do next;____ is doing it.” My favorite answer is “happiness” since I truely believe this where happiness originates from. But somebody publicly claims the “correct” pick is “virtue”. The reason? “b/c it fits best”. Well, this is a personal preference issue. I value content more than sentence flow-—this might because I have only being speaking English intensively for a mere two and half years. A similar example will be the one about “pure and simple truth” (hope everybody here knows which one I’m talking about). If I were retaking the test, I’d still choose “complete”. So again, content precedes any so-called witty talk, in my opinion:D).
You know, I started to think that this maybe how this test catagorizes visual mathematicians and visionary philosophers—just a guess.
Oh, finally, I took the test b/c I’m confused I have plenty of time at hand. I’m a senior in college and I don’t have a damn idea about what should I do next—which is to say I don’t have any wisdom according to the test makers and which is followed by that I shall receive no happiness according to Yiping…
I study mathematics in school only because there is higher concentration of smart and humble professors in that department. I have no clue what I’m going to do with math. I know I can make a good teacher, but I’m not sure about whether teaching is the thing that I want to do. I’m thinking about going to law school after being rejected by an internship in Deutsche Bank, as my English is gradually getting better. So if any of the highly intelligent people here can offer me some advice, I’d really appreciate it.
All right, Let’s pray that some scrupulous lawyers who are relatively intelligent and very cheap and also receieved the paper crown or a similar one that I got. BTW, mine is 135 and please pay no attention to it, since it really doesn’t mean anything.
