Setting aside an International Day of Prayer for others is a reasonable idea.
It helps to know what is happening to others in this world and to take the attention off ourselves for awhile. And, days such as tomorrow can move us into learning, seeking and adopting a heart that lifts people up to the throne of mercy the other 364 days of the year.
Philippines
A former Air Transport Chief in the Philippines locked himself into the control tower at Manila’s main airport, called a radio station and died as police swarmed the tower. 62 year old Panfilo Villaruel talked about wide spread corruption in his country on station DZBB before he was shot.
Looking back…looking forward
For those of you wondering why Richard’s blog is silent, a few weeks ago there was a storm with lightening…../computer/modem……pfffftttt! Computer goes in for repairs and a modem gets borrowed. I’m sure he’ll be back soon.
$100.00 a spam-comment
This is rather creative. The other day I posted on comment spam, wondering how it gets there and what can be done about it.
Reading & Writing invoiced a comment spammer who tried to bluster back.

I’m a bit late with this one. The Gutless Pacifist has a new member of the family. Head over and wish them well.
Community
We assume others are like us. And that is no different online. However, this space is different, for it is accessible to people who are shut in by illness or who may have had a computer given to them and not a lot of money for basics, let alone the extras. Me and Ophelia is blogging from England while trying to get well again, and is exploring the community of blogs.

The ability to laugh at yourself is a life long gift. IreneQ has it nailed and you laugh with her when she is in the presence of a gentlemen she finds attractive.

Hi Bene, You have such a brilliant blog, it’s taken a few days of visits here just to read one third of your main page and links.
Thank you for the mention here. I did head over to the Gutless Pacifist, admired his McJob post and left congratulations re the arrival of baby girl Grace.
What a sad story here about Air Transportation Office (ATO) chief Panfilo Villaruel and his comrade. If only they had become bloggers, they could have achieved more by blogging the problems.
Grateful for the laugh over at IreneQ’s. Irene has *his* card, hopefully she will say something to him and find out what his interests or hobbies are: it might give her a clue as to whether he’s married or not! For her sake, I hope he’s not married and asks her out.
Appreciated all your interesting blog links and so far have visited David Heddle from your comments box, Martin Roth, Richard Hall, and somewhere inbetween Darren Rowse. Great blogs. Look forward to catching up and getting familiar with the different styles and page layouts plus favourite links.
Bye for now. I’ll put you in my sidebar tomorrow and aim to visit daily. Your posts are so “meaty” I can’t let a week go by or it’ll take me days to get half way down the page again!
Welcome to the blogosphere, and thank you.
Happy to introduce you to some terrific bloggers, who will introduce you to more terrific bloggers, who will…..Blog on!:^)
I was going to say it too: you have a great blog, here, Bene. When you survey the news and other blogs I notice they are unique finds, and I sense in your voice a gentle tolerance.
Also, I enjoy your insights into the blogosphere itself. There aren’t many sites like yours. I enjoy the media, but even more, I like to hear about what others are thinking about what they’ve seen and read.
You’re very generous with links and I think you’re the least self-absorbed blogger I know. Also, you’re a mystery to a lot of us. Lol. That helps too.
Blog on, Bene.
Goodmorning Bene, thank you for your welcome message. I’m here to capture your URL and location for my sidebar but still cannot find any “about” you, your name and whereabouts. Perhaps I’ll find more when I read your past posts and archives. In the meantime I have listed you under “Canada” blogs because you have a maple leaf in your blog logo.
Thanks Ingrid….Canada it is.:^)
For your information Quantum Tea (in my blogroll) has a great list of UK bloggers you might want to browse sometime. Blog on!
