Darren over at the great Australian blog LivingRoom didn’t sleep well last night.
He had blogging on his mind and started his blogathon a tad early.
3:50 am Melbourne time to be precise.
So, if you are just getting off work on the east coast of North America or settling in for the night in the UK, pop over to his blog.
So far Darren is as sharp as a tack, and I don’t expect fatique to creep up on him for several hours yet. It’s fun watching a blogathon. People can post the oddest things when they are punchy.:^)
Arrggghhhh!!!!
The government department I attempted to deal with had 10 days to get back to me by letter.
They at least got that part correct, and got the paper in the mail post haste. I now have a written record of the Parts and Subsections and subsections of the subsections they have made their decision on, and the signature of someone a bit higher up in the food chain.
Great. Terrific. Wonderful.
The ball is now in my court.
This is where most people walk away.
I have 30 days to apply for a tribunal.
I’ve already made the appointment with the lawyer.
Any citizen can handle their own tribunal, but I’ve had enough aggravation, and this sort of thing is a walk through a park for legal advocates.
I won’t be shuffling papers, going through voice mail and being treated like a number.
The government will have to have a department advisor at the hearing.
I know the procedure, I’ll get about 10 minutes to look the adjudicator and representative eyeball to eyeball.
That’s all I need.
Whether I ‘win’ or ‘lose,’ this goes on record, and will be one of thousands of similar cases that may help bureaucrats and legislators take notice.
It’s like voting, only harder.
Right now, it’s enough of a win.

On my way, and I think there is going to be more than one productive family in Manilla. You go mate and blog on!
Ah tribunal - where truth is sacrificed for fairness and you learn that justice and the law are not synonymous. Where politically appointed adjudicators play judge and jury and the deer and the antelope… oh - that’s another song and dance.
Well best of luck with your frucas du jour, or du annum. Like Rosanna Rosannadanna said, “it’s always somethin….” Hang it there.
Hey Fred!!!
Merely a frucus du jour, a frucus de annum simply wouldn’t do. Merci et blog sur.:^)
