That was quick.
Belinda Stronach declared her candidency today and the youth oriented web page is up and running.

The goal in the six week time span is to sign up and sell 50 to 100 thousand new members for a new party before the leadership vote.

Campaign spending is capped. The biggest criticism she faces is lack of experience.

The State of the Union
Bush kicked off his election campaign tonight leading off with foreign policy with the ‘for us or against us routine.’
Not strong on domestic policy, Bush went for the conservative Republicans with political platitudes. All he needed to do was play up his strengths and appeal to his conservative base.
If Kerry continues to strengthen his base, he could be a reasonable challenge in the November elections.

Living Room
Darren is hanging in there in his Blogathon, posting cat and dog jokes. Quite funny ones at that.
Before heading off for bed, head over and donate for a Manillan pedicab and help put this dedicated blogger to bed. He’s about 12 hours into the 24 hour goal and a few typos are creeping in.:^)

We’ll see, BD, but personally I think you’re on some serious drugs on that one. As for “[going] for the conservative Republicans with political platitudes,” you were maybe expecting him to do the Britney Spears thing and say, “Oops, I Did It Again?” At the risk of mixing metaphors, in the wrods of Darth Vader, “I find you lack of faith disturbing.” ;)

Re: The State of the Union. I don’t know what I was expecting actually, I figured it would be an election kick off.
As for Kerry…just a guess. As Upward Way Press put it:

“Polls show that President George W. Bush would have a tight race with an unnamed, generic Democratic candidate this fall.”

Although Dean had a saavy website, perhaps netizens have learned it really isn’t the center of the universe. :^)
