The Limey Brit has written a fun piece about his adventures with a garbage disposal. Sounds like something I’d do.

The Evangelical Outpost attempted a satirical post on Canada based on the MacLean’s piece. It bombed and Joe wound up apologizing.
As a Canadian I can write a post on the the MacLean’s piece and no one squeeks. Maybe it’s because satire is really hard to write, and Joe inadvertently hit the proverbial nail on the head. Ironic comes to mind.
We Canadians contribute far more than Americans have a clue about.

I hate to be rude, but let’s be honest. Your entire country hasn’t exactly been too relevant in the past…well, come to think of it…never. Maybe back in the Ice Age your country played a role in the continental drift or something but since then things have been kind of slow.

Thing is, 30+ million Canadians are very used to this.
My country is better than your country is rather adolescent and the knowledge the average American knows nothing about us is old hat.
The post says more about America than Canada, and I don’t see any point in defending our role in the world to Joe. (Interesting that most of the back peddling was in regards to the military.)
Hey, at least he tried, eh? He knows we are north of him.:^)

    Cheers for the link.

Canada gave me my maternal grandmother - courtesy of Nova Scotia - matriarch of her family and a remarkable woman. Lived to be 95 and was baking bread in her last year, loved fly-fishing and the Red Sox, sent husband and son off to two world wars, and survived the 1918 flu epidemic and never had the flu again.

There is a pundit god-blogger who shall remain unnamed for the sake of charity that would be *shocked, awed and dismayed* if he found out the military heroes in his family served under one of my ancestors. LoL.
How lucky you are to have such a rich heritage Baillie. May your grandmother rest in peace.
