I’m trying to put myself on this plane.
And I’m trying to imagine what I’d think, feel and do.

An American Airlines pilot who just got back from a ‘mission trip’ crossed some personal boundaries in his job and went through some kind of ’separate the sheep from the goats and let’s share,’ speech.

Personally, I’d be suitably concerned.
My first thought would be, “What is this guy drinking/smoking/popping?”
My next thought would be, “What shape are the co-pilot and navigator in?”
My third thought would be, “Ok, do I know where the emergency exits are?”

I have had experiences on a plane where people have ’shared’ their faith.
Passengers that is. Buddhists, Christian, cult, and assorted inbetween.
Hey, I’m stuck in a metal tube with everyone else, and although winging through the sky may cast my thoughts toward the eternal, I really don’t want a pilot on a commerical flight being so heavenly minded he isn’t much earthly good. I tend to prefer my pilots experienced and efficient, not overly enthusiastic.
