Ganns of Superblessed has put up a post and a plea that I think we Canadian bloggers can respond to and help him with.

May I ask a favor of you, my beloved brothers and sisters in other countries (specifically Canada, the UK, Australia, or New Zealand)? Would you know of any openings in your areas for English/Literature teachers in high schools or community colleges, that might be available to Filipinos? If you do, please send me a notice, and I’ll send you my resume. I fear for my family’s future in this country. Mind you, we will never leave this country if God does not want us to. Where God leads us, ultimately, is where we shall be, but until I get such a definite call, it might be to my economic and sheer physical survival and that of my wife and infant son that we find another place to call home. His will, not ours.

Rampant kidnapping gangs (we are [poor] Filipino-Chinese, the main target of these greedy bandits), the drop of the peso, the worsening health situation… it is certainly enough to sway the most steady Christian. I am not in the best frame of mind as I write this; I may delete this entry later or tomorrow, or I may never delete it.

Fact is, I trust in God to protect us. I trust in His plan. But if it not be in God’s will that we find another place to live, I beg you, help us pray for my nation. The Philippines needs prayer. Please, please, include my country in your prayers.

How can fellow bloggers help a special guy?
Journey Inside My Mind is having a really tough time. It’s been tough for awhile and Dan has taken any job he can, while not complaining about his struggles and he is working hard in counselling and trying to get well.
Some people in his church are able to give a bit.
The hydro and water need to be paid.
The rent is behind.
The family is saving money by disconnecting the computer and Dan is blogging from the library.
Not being able to find work drags a man down.
He has gone out of his way to encourage bloggers in spite of his circumstances.

How can we do something more for him and his family than say “stay well, be happy, we’ll pray?” Many of us have have been in this position, and we’ve needed more than a good word.

Homesick

16 hour teaching days, a genuine homesickness, and on-going minor illnesses aggravated by the Florida climate are taking a bit of a toll.
The termites don’t sound like something most of us would want to get used to.
