I’ve noticed when I post about Canadian politics more than a day in a row, hits go down significantly.
Almost half actually.
I’m not interested in doing commentary, I recognize I’m too cynical and dismissive, but I am interested in linking up to varying points of view.
I genuinely struggle to keep my opinion down to as few words as possible, even though it’s a blog. I’ve covered too many elections and too many politicans I guess.
I wonder what the traffic drop says about Canadian’s penchant towards political things?
US political posts would generate a lot of traffic here, but draw way too much anger to comfortably handle these days.
At the risk of being self-focused, maybe it’s an indicator I’ve become a boring blogger.
Truth be told, I have been self-focused. There have been major changes in my life the past six weeks and adapting has taken up a fair bit of my attention.
And within my chosen core of blogging buddies there have been changes. Sabbaticals, grieving, illnesses, academic pressures, work…a reflection of life.
I genuinely miss some bloggers presence online.
Blogging requires effort in reaching out.
Since much of it is relational, those relationships need to be cultivated through comments, encouragement, linking and leap-blogging, none of which I’ve tended carefully or well at all lately.

It keeps me coming back, but then, I guess your blog isn’t for my personal enjoyment
So cut back if you have to - just cover Canadian politics every other day!
Bene, I like your blog. And I try to get over here to read it often. I’m not always as faithful as I should be and I don’t always comment, but that doesn’t mean I wasn’t here.
Blessings, B.D., as you continue to adapt. Change is one constant in life.
Now theres a plan William!
I like it.
We are going into a federal election at some stage this year.
Ottawa has always been disconnected from the everyday, this country is geographically and culturally regionalized. Municipal and provincial elections have more of a sense of reality.
