As others begin to look at this sub-division of blogging, one of the stronger areas of god-blogs is the post-modern, emerging, alternative etc. group of protestants who are mostly ministers and theological students.

It’s a lively group with strong opinions.
Maggie Dawn is a new voice in this group from the UK, and a much needed one.

I think there are a couple of different things misfiring just now in this bit of blogworld. The first thing is that there’s a collection of people (and I’m one of them) who want to talk about what matters, and don’t want to waste time judging each other by wheter they ‘tick the right boxes’ theologically. The second thing is that there’s a collection of people (and I’m one of them too) who, while they think ‘playing’ with Christian ideas is part of the picture, also want to think, debate, articulate, put some flesh on the bones. The misfire is when the people who want to think and articulate their theology get misconstrued as being judgemental of others. We need to give each other a bit of space, and the benefit of the doubt, while we try and say what we think, working out what we mean in the process.

I’m not a minister or a theology student. I’m not working on a degree, and as I read many of the blogs that would put themselves under the labels in the post, I’m going to stick my neck out.
Some of the difference in discussion is less theologically based than nationally.
