Before an edition of the bible gets to readers it is the job of Peachtree Editorial and Proofreading Service to check for typos.
It’s a daunting task.
Some of the ones this company and others have found over the years include:
Blessed are the place-makers (instead of “peacemakers”), Matthew 5:9.
Thou shalt commit adultery, Exodus 20:14.
Know ye not that the unrighteous shall (omitted “not”) inherit the kingdom of God, 1 Corinthians 6:9.
Printers (instead of “Princes”) have persecuted me without a cause, Psalm 119:161.
Go and sin on (instead of “no”) more, John 8:11.
The fool hath said in his heart there is a (instead of “no”) God, Psalm 14:1.
Let the children first be killed (instead of “filled”), Mark 7:27.
These are murderers (instead of “murmurers”), complainers, Jude 16.
The murderer shall surely be put together (instead of “to death”), Numbers 25:18.
He hath ears to ear (instead of “hear”), let him hear, Matthew 11:15.
I will … that women adorn themselves in modern (instead of “modest”) apparel, 1 Timothy 2:9.
Peachtree made sure our ’sour’ ancestors and the ending of ‘fractions’ didn’t make it into the Holman Standard Edition that just came out.

Here’s the a link to the “Wicked Bible” (the one that commands adultery): http://www.catholicapologetics.net/wicked_bible.htm
I found my own typo in the first printing of the ESV Bible - it’s since been caught and was quickly resolved. The error was in Genesis 5:28 and said, “When Lamech had lived 122 years, he fathered a son.” The text is supposed to read (and now does) “182 years.”
Those are some bad typos.
Yikers, but it’s kinda funny too.
I agree with Travis, I chuckled a few times… funny.
