Someone planted a unique Trojan on my computer.
We found it a couple of days ago.
I did mention a Trojan in passing in a post, didn’t I?:^)
It is quite unique.
It is not off the computer yet, because for now it is in my best interests to keep it there.
For now.
The information has been passed on to people who know what to do about trojans and the people who play with them.
You can discover what your enemy fears most by observing the means he uses to frighten you. Eric Hoffer (1902 - 1983)
Why would someone be so malicious?
I guess because they can.
If nothing else it is a reminder that we aren’t machines, or lines of code and we aren’t players in a Sims game. I will continue to chose to never forget that I am dealing with people online.
My gosh. A unique and tailor built for Bene trojan.
It’s all rather silly isn’t it?
Well.
I’m not that special.
I find myself feeling very sorry for whomever went to all that trouble.
While the ISP continues to work on it’s upgrades, if you have cause to email me, would you be so kind as to do so at Bene_Dictionathotmaildotcom?:^)
as I live the questions has good information about probes, hackers and computer security.

Ugh… I feel for you, Bene!
Taking a stand, sowing integrity and kindness - of course you are susceptible to attack. It’s up to the tech’s now. In the meantime, enjoy the freedom that comes from knowing.
I wonder if there is anything in the virus that can help you track the originator of it? Both my friend Jackson and myself were attacked by viruses this past weekend, too. I was able to disable and remove mine before it did any damage. Jackson was not so lucky and spent all day Sunday battling the bug.
It’s a little alarming to me that you have a “unique bug” apparently customized for you. You are handling yourself graciously, I must say.
I’ve installed a new firewall today. The cyber world is becoming a dangerous place to play.
my son works for symantec in the corporate anti-virus section. email me off list if you want contac info.
Thanks.
What needs to be determined by pros is how unique this trojan is.
Right now, we’re aware it is it’s own entity.
It’s out of my hands, and when I get a heads up, off my computer.
I appreciate the offer very much Alicia. If Symantec can benefit from the info, I’ll have my people get in touch with your people.;^)
I’m not at all surprised, I’m actually relieved. If it remains ‘unique’ or not, at least it’s being taken care of. How utterly foolish of the person that did this.
I never thought I’d say this, but I’m glad the ISP has had problems. Yeah, it’s been a hassle, (enough blogging about it already!) but it has been for most of their customers. If they hadn’t had difficulty upgrading I doubt this trojan would have been found.
I’m really sorry you and Jackson got hit Mark. Bloggers are great people, and one gave me information about another level of security that won’t cost much to initiate.
Yeah, the cyber world has it’s dangers, and it’s no fun learning that the hard way,is it?:^) Blog on!
You know how to catch a unique Trojan? U-nique up on it. Aren’t you glad I’m back in action?
Bad, Rev. Mike, bad!!!
Bene; sounds like the one that snuck up on #1’s ‘puter… took the rest of my hairs to get rid of it <;0
(See how nice I was and didn’t type heirs????)
