My absense from blogging is driving me a bit batty.
Not that I take this amazing medium for granted, it’s just that an enforced absence is hard.
There were nearly 500 pieces of spam in the blog comments, dumped over a 24 hour period. According to my MT-saavy tech I probably I haven’t been using a good tool properly. The MT black-list isn’t rocket science, but I guess I’m doing something wrong. Rachel Cunliffe cleaned up the mess and I appreciate it.
I’ve been the recepient of talent and kindness in the blogosphere the past two years from all over the world. I remain humbled and grateful.
I feel stupid and dirty.
Stupid because I can’t fix my computer, or clean up spam properly, and dirty because pornography is about exploitation – the giving in to base instincts for money, for pleasure. No one wins. It goes far beyond looking for love in all the wrong places.
As the crippled computer limps along and I get monkey locked on porn sites, I find myself praying for those women, and for the people making money off them. What a waste of life. What horrible emptiness and torment. I’ve never seen an amoured car follow a hearse.
Canada elected a minority liberal government tonight.
There was a 60% voter turnout.
I can’t keep this computer online and I miss reading blogs.
I miss blogging, I miss believing I’m part of something.
I don’t like not knowing if or when I can get this machine fixed.
Stupid. Dirty. I know they are lies.
What isn’t a lie is that although blogs readers only comprise about 4 percent of online readership, they matter more in my life than I know how to admit.
Hang in there with this blog ok? Technically poor and stupid or not, I don’t think it’s my turn to leave yet.
I’ve asked those with access to this blog to fill in as they can, while I try to figure out how to get this machine working. Blog on!

And all this time I thought you were tied up being involved with your election. I am having same kind of trouble with my PC and believe it or not all the pop-ups and spam are coming from the people at Microsoft. I use MSN exclusive.. Internet explorer… and you would think they would help a subscriber eleminate all that junk. I wrote to them and they flatly told me that was how they made money…with pop-ups. I told them when my subscription is up in Sept… So Long MSN. I wish I had sense enough to do linux, but I’ve tried it and it is too difficult for me. I’m not hi-tech, heck, I’m not even lo-tech. RLP is down with his PC too so we must have a BLOGWORM working. heh heh good luck Bene
Yeah, I hear you.
I sure hear you.
Ever since this ISP switched to MSN it’s been computer hell in front of this machine.
I’ve had this computer for seven years, it was an amazing gift. I’ve done all I can to be a good stewart.
We can’t allow the noisy money grabbing voices to beat us down.
RLP is computer saavy, and his machine is crippled, so there you go.:^)
Hang in there too okay…and when you can, blog on!
I’ve been lurking on your blog for quite a while. I come here because I value what you have to say and I gain a great deal from this anonymous interaction. I hope that these computer/spam difficulties resolve for you soon so that you can rejoin the blogosphere. I’ll keep checking in.
hey, here’s a big hug from scotland.
Yeah, I have no clue technically speaking either. Kevin did all the work setting up my site–I’m just along for the ride. I so need to take a couple of computer classes…
Hang in there, B.D. And Blog on, indeed.
We miss you!
Looks like connexions email got hacked too.
Is school out?
I’ll be back.:^)
I believe that experiences like yours are exactly the kinds of trials that Christ told us we would experience (Matt 5:11). Believe His Word, live His Word. That doesn’t make it easier, but I hope you take comfort in knowing that you are doing His work. We aren’t talking about a corporation having profits disrupted by this person’s efforts– your work is simply an attempt to do God’s bidding.
The hacker will eventually tire of tormenting you and move on, and we can go back to reading your wonderful posts. I’m praying this happens soon.
Blog on!
I may be pretty computer-savvy (I should be, since I develop software for a living), but there are many aspects of computing that totally elude me. It seems you have to be more and more of a specialist, these days, just to get anything done.
You’re in my thoughts and prayers, Bene. Here’s hoping you’re back online soon.
your graciousness at praying for women victims of pornography brought tears. that is what they need more than anything. the depth of their desire for love is immense. thank you for showing love, even in the midst of your own troubles.
