Between the hacker, malicious adware and the ISP there was something else going on in my life that knocked me down.
My twin was in hospital.
I’m been bereft and lost.
Even more lost without my down time spend blogging, the twin bond can be hard to deal with. My usual boundaries and what I like to do vanished, and I grieved.
I get wants and needs mixed up all the time so…
I handed it all back over to my Heavenly Father.
My desire to fix things, my computer, my joys, my sadness, my frustration, my losses, my twin. My rights to possessions, health, reputation… I laid them down like a child would hand a parent a favorite broken toy. His throne is where there is mercy.
And in the troubles, once again came the deep knowing. God loves. He will never leave me or forsake me. And in His presence, the sense of ‘mine’ melts away. And there has been peace. Not sudden peace. More like wading into warm water. I’ve spent several nights outside just praying, watching shooting stars and fireflies.
And I thanked Him for all I do have.
That takes a great deal longer than laying out the woes.:^)
Today a friend met up with me for coffee.
He was gracious and blunt.
“Enough.
Let me lay this out for you.
You need a new computer, you need to keep blogging, you aren’t done yet.
Will you accept my offer of a new tower?”
I’ve accepted.
And I went home to find out the best news of all…my twin is healing well and coming home today.
Whoo hooo!
P.S. I’ve been missing out on all the good stuff, like this flame war.
And to think it all started with this.

Hi Bene,
First of all I so enjoyed reading your post and thankful that your twin is recovering well. How I came upon this site was strictly by accident. I was trying to locate a site that would provide me with information regarding obtaining a lost Birth Certificate and low and behold I clicked onto your site. Since this is all new to me perhaps if time allows you could let me know what it’s all about.
Thanks & God Bless!
Sandy
Hi Sandy:
Just a blog.
In Canada.
Lots of links on the side to other great blogs around the country and around the world. Just ordinary people from all walks of life.:^)
One of those weblog things you may have heard about.
It reads top to bottom and the search engine is for past posts.
Welcome! Bienvenue!
If you are in Canada and need to replace a lost birth certificate here you go: http://canada.gc.ca/cdns/wallet/wallet_e.html
I’m glad you’re back.
I’m glad your twin is healing.
And I’m glad that you remembered that there is grace in trials at the throne of our heavenly Father.
Good to see you’re back and that your twin is recovering nicely. Praise God!
Welcome back ol’ chum! It wasn’t the same without you. And already helping a stranger understand the blogging world and helping her to replace a lost birth certificate. Amazing Grace.
Welcome back, Bene. I’m thankful you are back and that your twin is recovering too. And I’m thankful to your friend for a new computer for you. Thankful to God who uses his people to help one another and that you accepted the gift. That’s a good start to the day down here.
Shalom,
Jan
Bene:
Appreciate very much your thoughts in this particular message. I just posted in my own blog space of how I’m having trouble with reliance on Godly trust in my own set of circumstances within the last year–and 5 minutes later I find your insight into your own circumstances.
I don’t see this as pure accident or chance.
It isn’t hard to remember why I like blogging so much reading these comments. Thank you.
We are beggers telling beggers where we find bread. I don’t know that it gets much better than that, eh?
You were missed! Welcome back- and even better- the good news of your twin’s healing! THAT’S what it’s all about.
There was a growing Bene shaped hole in the Internet. Glad it’s getting fixed.
Blessings.
Heard a song about you… Statler Brothers… talked about a gal that knew the words to at aleast a million tunes, but the one most requested ,by a man she knew as cowboy, was the late night BENE DICTION to the y’all comeback saloon. heh heh!
Good to have you back, Bene. And that’s great news about your twin, too. Take care.
Oh shoot, everyone else got there first with the comments. So I’ll just say “me too.” I’m sure glad to have logged on and found such wonderful news. Prayers do work, don’t they?
I’m delighted to hear about your new computer BD. We should all have a friend like that!
I’m a bit disturbed that you seem to have derived some pleasure from what you describe as a “flame war” though. That was not for idle amusement, but a serious exploration of an issue vital to salvation. Please treat it with the gravity it deserves.
So glad you are back, your twin is OK, and your computer woes are being handled. I am personally glad that june 2004 is over and history. While there were some good things that happened, professionally it has been one of the hardest months I have had since becoming a midwife. I posted about one of them (because I had permission from the family) but in the week after that incident I had 2 more heartbreakers in different areas and I have been very angry at God lately. Thank you for the reminder that I need to be thankful always even when I don’t know the whys or the wherefors!
Thanks a million Bene for that info you sent me regarding accessing Birth Certificates on line. You truly are an Angel and I hope you are having a great day.
Sandy
