I thought I’d do a quick dash around self-defined god-blogs and see who was blogging about US politics - in particular the convention in New York.

First stop Pundit List @ blogs4God
I looked at 25 links from this section.

2 were 404
2 hadn’t been updated.
4 were from New Zealand Britian or Australia ( no mention of US politics)
6 were US, male I don’t know if they were Republican or Democrats.
They had no convention or recent political posts up at a quick glance
1 was a US male, Republican, gently rebuking some of the language of coverage

15 were US males, 8 were Repubican- I think 7 were Democrat or other, I didn’t stick around to read much, was just checking to see if there were political posts.
I found no females in this sampling.

Then I took 20 links from The Blogdom of God. This was an A-B-C sampling. I clicked from the top which is listed alphebetically.

11 were US males, declared Republican, and there were polical posts.
In fairness I saw some political posts that were about events outside the US.

4 were US males with no political coverage

3 were US females. One had political posts but not about a particular party.

18 of the blogs were protestant, 2 were catholic.

Then I went over to The List - Canadian god-blogs listed alphabetically by province and clicked on 10

1 was not updated.
1 was female, 8 were male.
None of the blogs mentioned US politics in recent posts.

Over to the UK god-blog list where I picked 10, again by alphabetical listing.
9 were protestant, 1 catholic
2 were group blogs
1 female, 7 male blogs

One had some political non US content.

Over at St. Blog’s the Catholic ring I clicked on 10. The list is non-aphabetical.
10 were from the US, 2 females, 8 males - all updated.

1 female had political posts, one didn’t.
4 males had no political posts.
3 males had current posts on the convention, one had political posts on current court cases in the US.

I went to the LivingRoom to look at Australian god-blogs, but got a bit lost and couldn’t find a link.
Australian go to the polls October 9th.

I stopped over at blogdex (out of MIT) to see the top-linked stories.
20 of the 50 top links were not about US politics.
