The blog was down most of today, due to a power outage in Baltimore.
I have had my hosting problems!

I think when this blog’s hosting options comes up for renewal in November I’ll either call it a day or go with a hosting option outside the US.
I’m going to have to think things through. This hobby is eating up all the mad money.
I will not go with blog ads. Too many years in broadcasting I guess.
I don’t think I could ever do a fund raiser again either.
That was way too hard. I believe in asking for help, and receiving it with grace, but that request went past an internal boundary that was just too difficult.
By far the best host I’ve had was done out of kindness and didn’t cost. HourEleven helped me out for 11 months. They grew and had to move to a new server that didn’t like this platform. I still miss them - they were terrific. I have been the receipient of amazing kindness and patience over the past couple of years.

The hosting company I’m with now costs more than I can realistically afford.
They have been operational for the most part, and at least they respond to a service ticket (even if it isn’t an answer) and I know it is in their best interests to get up and running again.
Odd. I chose them because I believed they were relatively secure.
I think they are - but for the price there have been too many down times.

The internet is a lot like life, you never know what is going to take you down.

Check out Doteasy –>>http://www.doteasy.com/. They have an Ultra Hosting package, with generous features that costs 84.00 USD per year. They’re based in Vancouver and I’ve found the service to be pretty reliable. I have an affiliate account with them, but I can’t remember what it is. Blessings

    Thanks Ian, will do.
I thought I’d toss this out early, I think of this blog (mostly!) as a blessing and a gift, and I don’t think I’ve been a very good stewart of it sometimes.
In an ideal blog world I could just write, research, leap, and yack. My ideal blog world would have no HTML, really angry hosters, hackers, comment spam, symbols, numbers, or technical learning curves.

I did mention that was ‘my’ ideal world, didn’t I…and it doesn’t juxtapose with reality?:^)
    Not even close. Blog on!

Hey Bene, I can have multiple blogs on my Typepad account and allocate another author. You’re welcome to set up a blog on my account free although haven’t looked into what restrictions would prevent you from doing waht you like with your blog. One down side will be the title. I think it has to be something like…dogfightatbankstown/benediction blogs on
    Which just isn’t the same.

Anyway, you can even use it as a fall back option if you get stuck or need a temporary home.
