Kathy Shaidle started blogging in 2000, and has gotten world wide attention for her acerbic style, quick wit and steady posting.

The blogosphere, St. Blogs ( a relapsed catholic original) and the god-blogs wouldn’t be the same without her.

4 years and still at it! Ha!!! That is really something.

I’m a little late with this. I started this blog back in 2000 and have been posting almost every day since. More than 10,000 posts later… yes, I can believe I’m still at it. Very addictive stuff, as many of you know all too well.

I never expected to be interviewed by Vatican Radio, the Religion News Service and such. I certainly never expected to make as many friends (when I announced my mother’s death I was overwhelmed by condolences…), although when I started I was old enough to realize I’d make my share of enemies.

This blog has helped get me a wide range of writing and speaking gigs. I guess I’m proudest of my op-ed for the Dallas Morning News that drew 35,000 visitors to their site.

As blogging passes through its “CB radio” era and into its “Disco Duck” phase, I don’t have any deep thoughts to share with you about the phenomenon. I am almost, but not quite, resigned to the fact that someday this blog will cost me a job. Google Cache is what it is, and I can’t/won’t undo stuff I wrote in anger and haste for tacky, careerist reasons.

As far as I know from research, CT, Holy Weblog and relapsed catholic are three founders of the god-blogs, and we are the richer for them. Blog on!
