I didn't agree with them, but they were trying to make a point beyond merely winning the poll. Maybe there is nothing else of value (or so they believe) in their lives, so they generate value by inflating their vote count, and thus, their ego? All I know is, cheating speaks of emptiness, because when all is said and done, the truth can't be cheated, only emptiness can be fooled into believing anything was gained or accomplished.
