Proverbial Wife has bought the domain name godblognews.com. It isn’t up and running yet. Here is the plan:

…it’s going to start out simple since I will somewhat be on maternity leave any moment, but hopefully it will grow into a central resource, a hub of hubs, so to speak. If you’re interested in helping with this endeavor, let me know.

I’m proud to already own California’s one and only “GODBLOG” license plate. Now I just have to order a frame that says “godblognews.com” with the motto “Many Blogs, One God” (or should it be “They Will Know Us By Our Blogs”?). Down the road, I see car magnets, t-shirts, mousepads…any takers?

The Evangelical Outpost is co-writing a book on god-blogs.

Andrew Jackson of SmartChristian and I are in the process of collaborating on a book, tentatively titled: GOD BLOGS: The Emergence and Future of the Christian Blogosphere. The purpose of the book is to attempt to capture the attitude, content, trends, and future vision of the Christian blogosphere. Let us know what you think. If you have any thoughts or suggestions on what should be covered in such a work, please email Dr. Jackson or me.

Thanks for the link! It should say “godblognews.com” …but your typo is kinda funny ;)

    Sorry about that. Fixed.

I do hope that the authors of the Godblog book include Catholic and Orthodox Christians in their consideration. I can understand (slightly) ignoring Jewish and Muslim blogs, but I am very concerned that many Evangelical and Reformed Christians seem to think that they are the only godbloggers out there. The Christian blogosphere is a pretty large place and is growing daily.

    Hey Alicia,

We do plan to include Catholic, Orthodox, and all other small-”o” orthodox Christians both in the book and at the GodBlogCon convention. Dr. Jackson and I, though, are both evangelicals and could certainly use some input on innovative and influential bloggers. (It’s not a popularity contest but we do want to be representative of what is happening in each faithblogging sector.) If you have any suggestions please email them to me.

I should also point out that we will be including foreigners as well. Even those who don’t speak English (i.e., Canadians).

Oh, and Bene, we don’t want to make it a “cheerleading” type of book that glosses over the nasty things that go on. So if you have any ideas of what has historically gone wrong with God Blogs I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts.
