Love him or hate him, he isn’t Westmount cheap.
Paul Martin has a hard act to follow tomorrow.
Good wrap of Chretien at the inquiry here.

That golf ball show was a classic. Political theatre all right.
Given how dreary inquiries are, it was entertaining. Rumour has it Warren Kinsella cooked that one up.
One of my favorite Chretien stories is when he was walking back to Sussex Drive (PM’s house) and saw a busload of US tourists.
He hopped on (to the chagrin of his bodyguards) and had a grand chat with people.
Blew them away.
I kind of ambushed him at an airport once before a scrum. He just shrugged, grinned and waited for his press aide to catch up. Got my interview.
Even if Paul Martin had Rick Mercer write lines him tomorrow he hasn’t got the ease Chretien has. I’m going to try to catch a bit of it, Paul Martin being earnest can be painful to watch.
Was just over at your blog, your posts are top-notch. Are you secretly a famous writer?:^)
I should have discovered Chretien a lot earlier! Warren Kinsella…now I’ve heard that name before.
Thanks for your kind words, I actually think I write poorly (and sometimes have very little of interest to write about). But the fact that I am still writing has been very much because of your example and encouragement. It has turned out to be a somewhat therapeutic and interesting hobby - particlularly with finding out what’s going on with the world. Anyone tell you, you rock Bene?
He’s got balls, for sure!
While quite quite funny, and very clever, his little charade forgot to mention one thing: Who paid for his golf balls, — The Liberal Party, (no problem,) or our taxes? (BIG problem.)
And how does the fact that all those people also have monogrammed golf balls justify ADSCAM?
They can find ways to justify anything. I think Adscam backfired on the Liberals politically in Quebec. When Sheila Fraser released her first report, some steps were taken by Ottawa.
There was a rumour at a news site yesterday that the PMO’s office wants this inquiry wrapped up toute suite, it’s become a joke to Canadians, and that was even before the golf balls came out on the stand.
