I don’t get the technical aspects of this, but if you have registered your domain name at Go Daddy you might want to check your account details.

According to The Blog Herald:

Nick from Threadwatch reports that his account at domain name registrar Godaddy has been hacked.

He warns others who utilise the service to check their accounts.

“Essentially, I’ve had somebody elses account details coming up when I go to buy domains - a would be competitor no less - I have no idea if this is isolated to just me of if all accounts are at risk from some inherent security flaw.” he writes.

Comments from others at the site indicate that others have also been experiencing difficulties with the high profile registrar.

The post follows unconfirmed reports in January of a site outage at the site that denied access to users for 1.5 hours.

Nick at Threadwatch had it confirmed by an agent at Go Daddy that other account details were coming up on his log in for his domain name account.

He says the security breach has something to do with a security flaw and doesn’t know if other accounts are threatened.

Go Daddy has been rated the #1 registar of domain names by Netcraft.
