Camilla Parker Bowles is not welcome at the White House.

Charles has not had a state visit to the US since the death of Princess Diana seven years ago. This trip which is to take place after his wedding, has been planned for three years.

Meantime the Queen is issuing a royal warrent, commanding church goers to pray for Camilla. As head of the Church of England the Queen can issue the warrent as part of her formal recognition of the woman who will be her daughter-in-law as of April 8th.

So who is Doug Wead?
He is a motivational speaker trying to sell a book. He is a guy who released tapes to media to verify (read sell) the second book in his planned trilogy.
The first book is All the President’s Children (2003) and the new release is The Raising of the President.

He taped these conversations between 1998 and 2000. And he ‘released’ some of his conversation with George Bush to The New York Times to ‘prove’ authenticity. His publisher, Simon & Schuster needed to hear them for libel reasons.

Wead first acknowledged the tapes to a reporter in December to defend the accuracy of a passage about Bush in his new book, “The Raising of a President.” He did not mention the tapes in the book or footnotes, saying he drew on them for only one page of the book. He said he never sought to sell or profit from them. He said he made the tapes in states where it was legal to do so with only one party’s knowledge.

Wead eventually agreed to play a dozen tapes on the condition that the names of any private citizens be withheld. The New York Times hired Tom Owen, an expert on audio authentication, to examine samples from the tapes. He concluded the voice was that of the president.

Wead was a former aide to Bush Sr, and is supposedly connected to the political/religious community.
He sat on the tapes, released what he wanted when it was convenient for him to do so. He is selling his book, I don’t see a bigger story in this. George W. Bush wasn’t aware he was being taped, it’s candid conversation about a person and political strategy.
