I make no bones about being a follower of Jesus Christ. I know people may find that a wee bit of a curiousity, but can respect belief. I know the Hound of Heaven finding me is not of my doing, but it is His incredible grace and love that that met me in my brokeness, my pride, and despair.

I fight the impatience I have with shallowness in religion and evangelicalism. But even more I am blown away when the church does what the church is supposed to do, honour Him and care for hurting people.

A few weeks ago Seeking Serenity (Michelle, currently in South Africa) found out her mom had cancer and there may not be a lot of time left.
Her mom is in Australia and Michelle did not have the means for the air fare for herself and her son to get to her parents.

And Laura of Been There…Still There decided to see if bloggers and readers would help. She set up a Paypal button on her blog so people could help Michelle.

And they have, in kindness, love and generousity and obedience within a short period of time. The air fare has been raised, Michelle and her son will fly to Australia, leaving April 29th to spend 2 1/2 precious weeks with her folks.

This is the church as it is meant to be. Not seeking attention, or feeding it’s own ambition or seeking glory. A need was presented and a need was met, without fuss or crowing or ambition.

Watch, O Lord, with those who wake, or watch, or weep tonight, and give your angels charge over those who sleep.

Tend your sick ones, O Lord Christ.
Rest your weary ones.
Bless your dying ones.
Soothe your suffering ones.
Pity your afflicted ones.
Shield your joyous ones.
And for all your love’s sake. Amen.

Bene, we have had miracle upon miracle with this one! Donations from strangers via Laura, donations from folk I know, anon envelopes with cash, support and help from folk I didn’t even know cared!

It’s been amazing to see what God can do, if one but asks.

Thank you for highlighting our story - may it give hope to many others who doubt that their prayers make it past the roof.
