Some time ago Doug and his wife decided to get rid of most of the stuff of their American lives and head to Viet Nam as English teachers.
Doug is a Vietnam vet.

What would you miss?
How would you adjust?

I am a Viet Nam vet, also. Army Nurse Corps

It’d be pretty tough adjusting to a completely different culture.

I don’t know about the differences between America and Vietnam but having just returned to Australia after a 3 week trip to India I get a hint of changing cultures.

I think the thing I’d miss the most if I moved to India is personal space. There are people everywhere and very little opportunity to be alone.

I’d also miss all my ’stuff’. I have accumulated so much ’stuff’ over the years and there wouldn’t be room for it if I lived in India. Do I need all the ’stuff’ I’ve accumulated? Not really. Would I learn to live without it? I’m sure I would and my life would probably be better off for it.
