The UN World Food Program has designed a PC/Mac game for children and adults called Food-Force.
The gamers have six missions. Residents of an island named Sheylan are displaced by drought, hunger and civil war.
Mission one: Food assessment. The gamer takes to the air to assess how many people need food and the quickest way to get it to them.
Mission two: With a budget of 30 cents US per meal, the player figures out the balance between local diet and nutrition.
Mission three: The player must airdrop food without endangering the lives of the residents.
Mission four: The player has to assess purchase of food for immediate starvation relief and for the next six months.
Mission five: Negoitiating key links between donors, via planes trucks and ships, the player must navigate the landscape and destroyed infrastructure, including landmines and local rebel forces.
Mission six: The player has to plan the long term needs including restoration and rebuilding for the residents of Sheylan.
