Pity poor Gurmant Grewal. The Conservative MP is taking “stress leave” from his arduous duties as a parliamentarian and resident taper.

This news will no doubt come as a great relief to average taxpayers who may have felt a little stressed themselves, paying Grewal a $12,000-a-month MP’s salary to produce dubious tape recordings of Liberals allegedly trying to buy him off.

Now he can just stay home and cash the cheques. Much less stressful.

Cut the guy a little slack. I’m not sure if the taping stunt was the greatest of ideas, but he’s human and could easily be stressed out.

You’d expect politicians to have slightly tougher skins, especially when he put himself front and center via announcing the tape, but it may well have been more than he could handle.

I cut him some slack when the taping incident first came out.

However, new allegations have surfaced about the carpet business and the money he used to obtain his citizenship. That remains to be proved, it’s interesting who is coming forward.

The tapes…well they are easy enough to analyze.

The incident in the Vancouver airport on the weekend is also odd.

He isn’t the first MP to stress out - or be asked to take stress leave.
Harper was involved in the decision for Grewal to step back.

    We’ll see.
