Where’s Willy is a canadian website modelled after the Where’s George US site that follows a piece of money around the country.

The site tracks money and is named after Wilfrid Laurier whose face in on the five dollar bill. People log into the site, enter the serial number and watch where the bill winds up.

Let’s put it this way. Currency gets around. A bill might be used to tip an escort one week, pay a drug dealer the next and wind up in the collection plate the following Sunday.

The Royal Canadian Mint says it is not illegal to deface bills with a stamp or ink, but doesn’t advice it.
More about the Where’s Willy site,in the Toronto Sun.

My mum always told me to wash my hands after handling money.
Sounds like a good idea.

Canadian Money Tracker is a similar website :)
And it’s a common mistake, but Wilfred is actually spelled Wilfrid.
