Blogger meet up

I’ve met my third blogger!!

I didn’t say anything because Caleb is running around getting a lot done before he heads back to Australia and I wasn’t too sure he’d be able to fit a stop into his agenda.

I met Caleb online a few years ago, and there was empathy. He was busy in a church in Brockville Ontario – a tough place to be. A series of devestating events entered his life and he became to me what the Quaker’s wonderfully call a ‘bundle.’ In Quaker thought there is no burden in that word, there is joy and priviledge. I’ve been honoured to have him in my online life, and now to have him step into my real one. He’s doing great.

Caleb drove a long way out of his way today to do lunch before he hit the road again.
It amazes me that blogging affords something other online venues don’t quite give. We picked up where we were.

First thing we did was find air conditioning and food.
We talked technology, relationships, a bit of blogging, church, Church, international affairs, family…what was really fun for me is his love for his adoptive country.

Hey dude, thanks for going out of your way. May you be surprised by joy, and thanks so much for letting me be part of your adventures. Blog on!

Meeting fellow bloggers is good fun. Four of us had a get-togther in Sydney which was nice. It’s funny knowing so much about someone yet never having met them.

    And Happy Canada Day!

    Ian.

    Thanks Ian.

I learned a lot yesterday about Australia from Caleb.:^) I gained a new understanding and appreciation of the ability of Aussies and Canucks to communicate well. We share more concerns than I was conscious of.

I’ve found similarly, talking to Canadian friends. It is amazing our concerns are often so very similar, and quite reassuring and heartening at times.

I was at Caleb’s old church this weekend, which always causes me to think of him. Glad you had a good meetup.
