The US God Blog Convention arranged by Dr. Andrew Jackson and being held for American bloggers appears to be moving forward.
There is room for 300 bloggers and will be held at:
Biola University (California) on October 13th through October 15th, 2005. GodBlogCon is designed to establish and cultivate relationships within the Christian blogging community and to provide opportunities for Christian bloggers to think about their role within the broader blogging world.
The 19 speakers are evangelicals from the US covering a variety of topics such as Blogging for Pastors, Political blogging and Using Blogs for Online Activism and Evangelism.
The conference fee is 100US and does not include housing or travel.
Blog Book
The Evangelical Outpost is experiencing technical difficulties so I don’t know where Joe Carter and his co-writer are in their effort to write another Christian Blogging Book. Hugh Hewlett, keynote speaker at the Biola convention has a blogging book out conference participants are encouraged to read.

I’ve found it somewhat puzzling that the convention seemed to have been much more heavily promoted before registration was opened than once it was open.
Even bloggers listed as facilitators don’t seem to be giving it that much attention on their own blogs.
I’m still considering going, but I had hoped there would be some bloggers I’m familiar with. I don’t know any of those from the list of registrants.
