A few days ago I posted about a New Zealand student who has had a very tough time trying to get money for school.
It wasn’t a large amount, but for a student who has worked so hard it was discouraging and seemingly insurmountable.
Until Rachel Cunliffe of cre8d-design suggested Nellie try blogging and offer her skills as an artist to raise what she needed. Nellie is a vector artist. That is some of her work.
This is what blogging is about.
As you can see, I have managed to raise approx $258NZ in a few short days. I’m overwhelmed with that result, as I was really skeptical about this actually working in the first place. Thank you all so very much. That’s almost enough to pay for three subjects. I still need at least another $100NZ to be able to pay for four subjects, and hope I scrape together enough credits to pass. I’m going to be working doubly hard to gain excellences in as many achievement standards as possible because I might be able to gain Uni entrance without having to go through a bridging course that way.
Nellie is almost there. I was genuinely touched when I read her parents can’t/won’t help. That happened to me.
Let’s get Nellie back to school.
All that is left is $115.00US.
That’s it.
update: Nellie is going to school. She thanked people publically which is profoundly moving - when you get discouraged about god-blogs - its a reminder people live their words
