Hi Bene,
Thanks for the laugh and wry smiles, this morning. I’m still recovering from whatever knocked me down last week. It’s now turned into a chest infection and left me feeling very BLAH indeed. A bit of a laugh is good. However, my mind is not up to contributing yet.
Shalom,
Jan
Bene, the “joke” in the titles is that they are (supposed to be) ironic. Wayne Grudem, et. al., would not publish a book about “choosing salvation” because they are Calvinists. Etc.
So the proposed titles in your list, in order to follow the form, should go the reverse of your, um, overt criticism in them. For instance:
“Treating Commenters Gently” by In The Agora
“Liberals: Like You and Me” by LaShawn Barber
etc.
Make more sense now?
I liked the jab at me and The Thinklings, because it actually originated with the Boar’s Head Tavern guys, some friends of ours that we enjoy some good-natured ribbing with. The joke from them is that The Thinklings isn’t really a group blog since I’m the only poster. The joke from us is that they are a bunch of whiney girls.
Have a good one.
Yeah, saw the Boars Head.
Irony is humour that is the opposite of.
I don’t have most (well any) of the humour abilities, which is why it’s great that people with that capacity pop over and exercise it. I can admire and appreicate it, I’ll be the audience.
Thanks.
