I read this at RLP’s this morning.

Perhaps I’m overly cynical, but I believe a significant amount of the theology spoken and practiced by churches in the United States is not determined by a search for truth or an honest journey of devotion. A lot of our theology is driven by marketing, though no one wants admit that.

There are a lot of comments, I mustered the courage to add one and couldn’t.
I don’t know if it’s my tech stupidity or a tech glitch.
Doesn’t matter.
What RLP said, at the first anyway, hit a nerve.
I’m cynical, and I’ve decided lately I’m not going to dream anymore.
Dreams sneak up on you and get you believing stuff that isn’t true.
It isn’t worth it.
Dreams are where reality and idealism collide.
Comfort isn’t going to come from people, I don’t cheer up well.

21 But you, O Sovereign LORD,
deal well with me for your name’s sake;
out of the goodness of your love, deliver me.

For I am poor and needy,

I wouldn’t presume to tell others not to dream, it’s some odd quirk in me that gets thinking something is possible. I don’t even see it happening, most of the time I just start doing.
I tend to notice when my face is on the pavement, and it’s getting ground in.
Bit late then, I think.
I’m sick of dreams and possibilities and believing right now.
