The island of Tiawan was battered by Typhoon Talim last night and the storm is now battering South East China.

30 foot waves have been reported along the Chinese coastline, 6 hundred thousand people have been evacuated.

The typhoon season is traditionally between June and September, Talim came ashore as a category 4. Schools, businesses and financial markets remain closed as heavy rains continue to drench Tiawan.
