Kuwait gives 500 million dollars, Quatar 100 million. The UK is sending 5 hundred thousand ration packs, 150 Britians are missing in the Gulf Coast states. Sri Lanka, still recovering from the December quake and tsunami gives 25 thousand for US hurricane relief.

As an American, I have often heard, “We send aid to everyone when they need it, but where is the aid when we need it?”
I always correct people when they make that assumption.
I heard on the radio recently that 20 plus countries have donated money and/or supplies to the American hurricane relief effort.
I, for one, appreciate the compassion the world has shown to us. Though I am not directly effected by this disaster, my brother is down there helping with the relief efforts, and I am grateful for any assistance that makes life easier for the victims.
Yeah, I know. I got slammed for being anti american this week. It’s because people don’t know and it’s water off a ducks back.
I saw a senator comment on the Kuwait aid.
There is no shame in needing assistance, it isn’t about being the richest country in the world, it’s about being human. That has to matter first I think.
I surfed right over to moveon and registered. (Second place.) We aren’t close, though.
