This bout of pneumonia has taken a piece out of me I’m not getting back very well.

Today was a bad day, as in getting-up-on-the-wrong-side-of-the-bed-can’t- stand-my-own-company kind of day. My twin and I decided we needed some down time so we took off for a couple of hours.

Sherm immediately noticed my bad mood. Since I’d noticed it too, we agreed to put up with me.

Coming home we were having a serious disussion about a family member who is not doing well when some information tweaked in my tired brain and I started to spit it out.

I can be insufferable at the best of times, add a bad mood and a mind that spits information out like reading copy…

Sherm said something and I let out an exaggerated angry sigh and shut up.

“Go on. You always do that. I’m listening.”

“I’m trying to tell you something important and you interrupt. I hate that!”

“I’m not interrupting, I’m collaborating.”

We started laughing so hard we nearly went off the road.

It’s a twin thing.

Remember just before you got sick and you were feeling kind of dizzy? You self-talked out loud once in a while to keep your balance while you yacked on and on about blogging.

I was getting royally bored with the conversation when you said “Don’t close your eyes!”

My response “I didn’t close your eyes” was not what I meant to say.

You recognized that you were boring me and my head was in a totally different space, I thought you were self-talking to yourself about your balance.

Either way, we haven’t laughed that hard in a long time. And yes - you were insufferable. But it takes a long time to bounce back from pneumonia at the best of times. You are allowed to be sick and cranky - ok?

    ar arr arrrr.
I agree it’s quite appropriate to acknowledge I’m not feeling well, and self talking is a good way to keep one’s physical balance.
It’s okay to be cranky, it is a companion with illness, but I don’t think it’s okay to let the crankiness out on others.
I didn’t yack on and on about blogging - I was sharing!

I forget, did you close your eyes???:^)
