Nominations are being accepted for the second Canadian Blog Awards.
Robert McClelland has undertaken the effort again and the categories are expanded.
The political categories crack me up.
At the best of times pundits make a lot of noise, and enjoy recognition.
The fields are crowded!
And I hope before nominations close, there will more than Christian blogs in the faith category.
There are some outstanding photoblogs.
I was going to say three of the top Christian faith blogs in Canada: Jordon Cooper, relapsed catholic and Bene Diction Blogs On…but that would be smug…
I’ll rephrase. Three of longest running Christian faith bloggers in Canada have something in common.
We all battle illness.
Jordon Cooper is (I think) Free Methodist and he has been hit by a debilitating offshoot of diabetes. Kathy Shaidle of relapsed catholic deals daily with lupus, and all the wishes in the world aren’t going to get me off this medical pension.
I’m the theological mutt I guess, I’ve been called evangelical and I’m mostly okay with that.
We have a strong sense of social justice.
All three of us will never be rich.
Our faith was there before illness, and remains throughout.
This is where the internet provides opportunities perhaps that conventional brick and mortar can’t.
I notice something else in common.
Just a curious side note.
We post about more than faith.
I also got thinking that we don’t compete.
That isn’t what we are about.
Okay, I’ll stop now.
I just got thinking as I went leaping that there are some good blogs in Canada, and I enjoy and appreciate what we all do.
If you want to see what bloggers in Canada are going on about, and do some good leap blogging, head over to The 2005 Canadian Blog Awards.
