In the chatter below in the comments section of the post - 2005 The year the god-blogs died, Andrew Carrega pointed out a significant decision by a ministry that has been online for 10 years. When I discovered personal computers in 1998 or so, one of the first faith resources I found was GospelCom.net’s - Internet for Christians. Internet for Christians has decided it’s time to move on. The newsletter that was an important part of Gospelcom is ending. That doesn’t necessarily mean that IfC won’t continue to turning it’s gaze online, but it does mean that the ‘how’ is moving into the 21st century.
Published 2 years, 6 months ago…Our creative team has been tasked with a number of new projects, and we have needed to make some decisions about where to invest our limited man-hours for the coming years. Next week, the final issue of 2005, will be the last issue of Internet for Christians that Gospelcom will produce. I am pretty sure that IFC will continue, in one form or another, beyond next week’s final issue produced by Gospelcom.net. We are currently in discussion with a couple of ministries who are very interested in picking up the mantle and continuing to grow the ministry of IFC. That makes the ending of our involvement a lot easier to take. There will probably be a short lapse in the production schedule as the logistics of transfer are decided on and carried out, but it is great to know that an old friend will not be leaving, just “changing address.”
