from what I have heard, he was a victim of a common medical error.
He was on anticoagulant drugs after his minor stroke (which was caused by a clot) and I’m betting that they overdosed him. It’s easy enough to do, especially in these days when they send people home from hospital ASAP. Ideally in the early days of therapy to prevent further clots, the dosage should be titrated daily with daily blood tests - but more often a best dose is guesstimated and then adjusted with weekly blood tests.
My mother in law died of a hemorrhagic stroke after being anticoagulated too far. Medical neglect. Real common, alas. Can happen even to important folks. Hope that no one makes political hay off it, but I’m probably being too optimistic there.
It has happened in my family too.
The political hay is already being pitched.
