10 more days and we vote.
None too soon.
Blogs have gotten a bit more attention this election although I don’t think we need to get swelled heads over it. Cracks me up actually. I noticed last election that political party types and government types and media types wandered over to BDBO to check out what was being said. That’s nice, it’s a bit of a spike in hits, so I actually categorized elections this time out.
The Infozone noticed Canadian blogs were playing a more visible part in this election. A fair number of media outlets have blogs, political parties toute their bloggers. The spike in noise and attention will die down quickly. I suppose this intrusion of blogs will be studied and dissected. It’s democracy chattering in a fairly new medium, and for most of us, it’s fun.
(An absolutely outstanding example of how blogging can bring needed attention to a specific issue has been Michael Geist’s posts on MP Sarmite Bulte - and the funding she has received from lobbyists.)
