Michael Wilson is the new Canadian Ambassador to the United States.
He was finance minister under Brian Mulroney, brought in the GST and worked on free trade issues.
Since leaving politics he has been working on Bay Street. Wilson replaces Frank McKenna. The official announcement will be made later this week.
