I have to laugh, might as well, we managed to avert a flood today. I heard the sump pump kick in and all kinds of odd noises overnight.

The plumber was here in no time, the main pump had gone and with the heavy rainfall and mild temps we have had the last few days, we came within a inch or two of flooding. The back up pump saved a lot of grief. He is going to be very busy over the next while if the melt and the rain continues.

I’m sitting listening to the run off; babysitting so to speak, it sounds like I’m sitting beside a creek inside the basement.  We’ll be fine, but a lot of people in the area are going to have problems. I’ve checked in with friends today that are busy wet vaccing.

I’m getting out of Dodge for a day or so, I’ll keep an eye on the pump today and then I’m heading out of town just to have a break from the dreary weather, averted indoor wetness and stress that comes along with averted messes.

I keep a knapsack packed, the insurance policy handy, water is going to do what it is going to do.  I’ll baby sit the pump today, tonight I’m outta here and off for an overdue mini vacation.
